Tests on Big Baby’s injured knee came back negative and the Celtics 6th man will miss a few games with a strained patella tendon. Glen Davis received treatment whilst the Celtics practiced on Thursday and is expected to be out at least 3-5 days.
Said Davis: “It’s a sigh of relief, but you don’t want to be hurt, anyway. You don’t want to sit out. But it could be worse. I’m just glad I’m here, I’m getting healthy and getting ready to play.”
The Celtics will rely on newly signed forward Troy Murphy to pick up Big Baby’s minutes. This is asking a lot for a player who before last night had not played since mid January and has appeared in only 19 games on the season.
