Semih Erden Reacts To The Trade

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

In an added bonus to this week’s edition of “The Association” featuring the Boston Celtics, ESPN released this clip that was not included in the original broadcast. In the clip, Semih Erden reacts to being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the NBA trade deadline. What seemed like a questionable move at the time makes a ton of sense now considering what Celtic president has been able to do to the roster. The roster now features a viable second team that could help propel the green team to banner 18.

Rajon Rondo Playing Injured?

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

According to Celtics power forward Kevin Garnett, Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has been playing hurt. Said KG: “Rondo’s playing hurt, you know, (he’s) hurt. He’s giving us everything he has, and he’s grinding.” KG neglected to elaborate on what exactly has been ailing Rondo. An injury could help explain the funk Rondo has been over the last week. Over the last three games, Rondo has 4 total points on 2 of 18 shooting. Rondo was held scoreless for the first time this season Wednesday night versus the Indiana Pacers and failed to grab a rebound for only the second time [...]

Shaq Travels With Team To Houston

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

In a step in the right direction, injured Celtics center Shaquille O’Neal traveled with the team to Houston today as the Celtics prepare to take on the Rockets Friday night. No word on if Shaq will suit up, however, the fact that he is traveling with the team is an encouraging step in the right direction. Shaq has been sidelined since early February due to injury and is being advised by the team to not return until he is 100% healthy. Nenad Krstic has filled in admirably, since being acquired at the deadline, allowing Shaq to take his time returning [...]

The Ides Of March

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Ides of March is upon us and like Julius Caesar, the current state of the Boston Celtics has us worried of potential harm as any number of teams in the Eastern Conference are looking to remove the Celtics from atop the standings. Whether it be due to injury or simply old age, the Boston Celtics are on a roller coaster ride heading for the postseason hoping to have their main group of players ready and able to contribute when the games start to matter most. The Celtics are good enough to win in the regular season, but that means [...]

Will The Real Troy Murphy Please Stand Up?

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

No, really, will he please stand up? We kind of need him. Well, Troy Murphy was targeted as the must have piece of the puzzle during the buyout crazed days of the 2010-2011 NBA season. What amounted to sleepless nights for many Celts fans, who waited to see if Murphy was going to pick the Miami Heat over the Boston Celtics, has not had the major impact we had all expected or has it? Now, in fairness, Murphy had not played since early January and there is a big difference from being “in shape” and being “in game shape.” Let’s [...]

Nenad Krstic or Shaquille O’Neal, Who’d You Rather?

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Remember way back in the day when Troy Murphy was going to save the Boston Celtics franchise and how you had to turn to the powers of the google to find out who Nenad Krstic was? I surely remember the dark days of the 2010-2011 Boston Celtics campaign. Flash forward 2 weeks and Nenad Krstic has carved out a significant role with the team, and for a team short on rebounding, Krstic has stepped up in a big way. The Celtics previously had only one true rebounder in Kevin Garnett, Big Baby chips in on the rebounding effort, but cannot [...]

Said Doc Rivers via a press release: “Being named the Naismith Player of the Year is a tremendous honor, especially considering only one person each year earns this prestigious award, as a parent, I am extremely proud of Austin and as a coach, [...]

Glen Davis, Von Wafer and Delonte West Ruled Out For Wednesday

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Celtics have announced that injured forward Glen “Big Baby” Davis, and guards Von Wafer and Delonte West will not play Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. Delonte West is on a game by game basis at this point with his injured ankle. Said head coach Doc Rivers: “[Delonte] is not going to play tomorrow and I think he’s doubtful for Friday [at Philadelphia] as well, we’re hoping for Sunday” The reports on the recovery of Glen Davis, and his injured knee, are encouraging, however, said Doc Rivers: “Baby said he felt great today, but we’re going to hold [...]

Celtics To Meet With President Obama At MFA Fundraiser Tonight

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

President Obama will be in Boston tonight to take part in a political fundraiser at the Museum of Fine Art, and whilst in town will squeeze in some time to talk hoops with the Eastern Conference leaders hosting the Celtics for a private meeting. Hopefully, the meeting will not be too awkward as Obama happens to be a Chicago Bulls fan and happened to pick the Los Angeles Lakers to beat your Boston Celtics in last year’s NBA Finals. I guess we all have our faults. Regardless of his political/sporting affiliations, Obama is an avid sports fan I cannot fault [...]

Carlos Arroyo Practices, Possible Debut On Wednesday

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Carlos Arroyo participated in his first team practice with the Boston Celtics today handling the backup point guard duties behind starter Rajon Rondo. Arroyo is on pace to make his Celtics debut tomorrow night when the Blake Show, featuring the Los Angeles Clippers, comes to town. Arroyo will serve as the primary backup point guard until the return of Delonte West. West watched practice from the sidelines today, but there is an outside shot he could return to game action tomorrow night.
