Paul Pierce To Play Vs. Nets

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Paul Pierce had and MRI on his injured left foot today and the test revealed only a bruise. Given that the issue is merely a bruise and not anything serious, Pierce will be able to play when the Celtics face the Nets on Wednesday in their last game prior to the All Star break. As a precaution, Pierce sat out of practice today and will do so again tomorrow leading up to the game. Said head coach Doc Rivers: “There’s some bruinsing, swelling, but he can play, he’s going to play Wednesday. It’s just one of those things where if [...]

Big Baby And The Case Of The Missing Hops

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Celtic legend Glen “Big Baby” Davis added one to his blooper collection with an epic fast break miss during the Celtic Heat game on Sunday afternoon. After making a nice steal and racing down the court uncontested, Davis went up for a two handed jam and well, kind of came up short. Thoughts as I watched the video: 1. I went to a Celtics/Heat game and a WNBA game broke out. 2. An actual baby would have thrown it down. 3. 5 out of 5 dentists agree that this is awesome. 4. Big Maybe? 5. Now you know what I [...]

Paul Pierce To Have MRI

AUTHOR: | IN: Boston Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Celtic captain Paul Pierce will have an MRI on his sore left foot Monday. The injury to his foot could be the cause of his lowest offensive output of the season (1 point) against the Miami Heat on Sunday afternoon. Said Pierce following the game: “It was tough, you know right now, just battling a couple minor injuries to my hand and my foot, so I think that really explains my tentativeness and my off-shooting today. I told Doc that I really didn’t have it today but I just tried to grind it out and thank goodness we came out [...]

Nate Robinson Leaves With Injury

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Nate Robinson left tonight’s game in the second quarter with what is being called a bruised knee. The injury was severe enough not to allow Robinson to continue tonight forcing the Celtics to empty the bench. The Celtics are battling a massive bout of injuries at the moment and cannot afford to be without Robinson for any length of time. With the injury to Robinson, the Celtics are left with Von Wafer and rookie Avery Bradley as the only healthy guards behind Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen. The Celtics will benefit from the All Star break to catch up on [...]

Head coach Doc Rivers can be heard on the video saying “There’s no one alive thats going to break his record.” To put that in perspective, Jason Kidd is number two on the list and is over 800 made three pointers away from Allen.

Allen was recognized for his accomplishment over the PA between the first and second quarters and made the rounds to his family, mom and Reggie Miller so that they could all take part in the joyous celebration.
