Hardwood Houdini’s Celtic Trade Deadline Rumor Roundup

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

The NBA trade deadline is a mere hours away and the Celtics have yet to pull the trigger on any one of the hundreds of rumors flying through the interwebs. With the roster already at 15 players, Celtic president Danny Ainge has very little to work with heading into the deadline. Tradeable Chips: Avery Bradley, Von Wafer, Marquis Daniels, Semih Erden, Nate Robinson and draft picks. Bradley has the most potential, but Ainge would need to be willing to mortgage the future to fix the present. Erden is short money (500K next season) but will not command a lot in [...]

Kendrick Perkins Injuries Knee, Could Miss Next 3 Games

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

CSNNE.com is reporting that starting Celtic center Kendrick Perkins could be sidelined for at least the next three games with a strained MCL in his right knee. Perkins, who missed 43 games this season after injuring his left knee last season, was making a nice contribution to the club averaging 7.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game whilst providing the C’s with the legitimate inside presenace they desperately needed. With the injury to Perkins, Semih Erden remains the only healthy true center on the roster and will have to hold his own until Perk is able to return sometime next [...]

Carmelo Anthony Traded To The Knicks

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Save the Melo Drama for your Momma is what we have been saying for weeks now, with each new day there seemed to be another 2-3 twists added to where Carmelo Anthony would next lace up his Reebok pumps. For weeks it was the New Jersey Nets, then the New York Knicks, then the Los Angeles Lakers and then back to the Nets and Knicks and now the Knicks for real or at least until something changes in the morning. The trade breaks down as follows: The Denver Nuggets will send Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Sheldon Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo [...]

The 2011 NBA All Star Dunk Contest Breakdown

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

The NBA’s annual dunk-a-thon is a mere hours away and we figured we’d take a minute to breakdown those involved. Competing this year will be Blake Griffin of the Clippers, Serge Ibaka of the Thunder, JaVale McGee of the Wizards and DeMar DeRozan of the Raptors. Blake Griffin is the hands down favorite to win it all. The author of a host of highlight dunks is ready to stake his claim as one of the all time greats. One could argue that the NBA stacked the deck in Griffin’s favor but, we are above those sorts of acquisitions…well, kind of, [...]

Remembering The 1988 Three-Point Shootout

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

As we are only hours away from an epic Three Point Shootout between Celtic teammates Ray Allen and Paul Pierce it seems like only yesterday that Larry Bird was winning the first three shootouts ever held. Bird, always with a flare for the dramatic, rallied at the end to win yet another title. Only Larry Legend would launch the final ball and walk away with his finger in the air letting everyone know who the champ was. To this day, I still do the same exact thing after launching a three pointer from the corner.

Blake Griffin Bangs Head On Backboard

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Clipper superstar Blake Griffin finds out the hard way that it is not recommended to jump so high that you actually bang your head on the backboard trying to make a play. Speaking from experience from doing the same thing on an eight and a half foot rim, I can tell you that it hurts badly. For those scoring at home, I still managed to throw down a sick left handed jam.

Celtics Targeting Cavilers Anthony Parker

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Celtics have been rumored to have an interest in acquiring shooting guard Anthony Parker from the Cleveland Cavilers. With the rash of injuries of late the Celtics need to make a few moves in order to provide depth to the aging/ailing club. Cleveland is looking for a quality draft pick or a big man with upside in return according to sources. No specification on what they determine to be a “Quality Draft Pick.” As for the big man, Semih Erden is a likely candidate, but the Celtics cannot afford to part with him with the current state of the [...]

Justin Bieber Named MVP

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

After getting snubbed by the voters of the Grammys a week earlier, pop sensation Justin Bieber took his frustrations out on the basketball court taking home MVP honors at the annual NBA celebrity game held during All Star weekend at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Bieber chipped in with 8 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists in a losing effort for team West. Scottie Pippen led the winning East squad with 17 points but somehow lost out on MVP when the judges came down with a bad case of Bieber Fever. Rumors of Celtic President Danny Ainge signing Justin [...]

Mike Miller Taken To Hospital For Observation

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA News | COMMENTS: None Yet

Miami Heat guard Mike Miller was taken to a local Indiana hospital for observations after dealing with what could related to on going concussion issues suffered over the last three days. Miller was tested for a concussion on Friday, but had been cleared to play against the Celtics on Sunday and happened to be on the receiving end of a vicious KG screen. In yesterday’s game against the Pacers, Miller caught an elbow to the head prompting the need for further testing. Miller will remain in Indiana until he is medically cleared to return to Miami. Like the Celtics, the [...]

Richard Hamilton To The Celtics?

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Richard Hamilton to the Boston Celtics rumor has gained a lot of momentum in the last few days and it is beginning to cause Celtic fans to salivate at the notion of Richard Hamilton subbing in for Ray Allen on a nightly basis. Hamilton, who has expressed his desire to get out of Detroit, would need to have his contract bought out which would in turn make him a free agent and able to sign with any team in the NBA. Boston would be a logical destination since he would go from being a member of the Detroit Pistons [...]
