Celtics Sign Forward Chris Johnson To 10-Day Contract

The Celtics signed forward Chris Johnson to a 10-day contract providing the team with much needed depth until the final roster shakes out. Johnson, a 6-11 big man out of LSU, has averaged 16.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game so far this season playing for the Dakota Wizards of the NBADL. Johnson made it to Denver in time for the game against the Nuggets and chipped in with 6 points, 1 rebound and 3 blocks in over 17 minutes played.

Said head coach Doc Rivers before the game against the Nuggets: “We had him in camp, he’ll play tonight. He won’t know what he’s doing, but he’ll be out there and he’ll be out there early. We needed a body and he can play a little bit. He’s been terrific in D-League.”
