Troy Murphy And Mike Bibby To Sign With Heat?

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Which comes as a total shock, the Miami Herald is reporting that free agents Mike Bibby and Troy Murphy are leaning towards signing with the Miami Heat. This would be a crushing blow to the Boston Celtics, not only would they be missing out on two key additions, the Miami Heat would be addressing two areas of need. The swing could be enough to catapult the Heat over the Celtics once and for all. The Heat have shown an ability to cruise past lesser teams relying on the their Big Three, but have struggled when playing an elite team that [...]

Knicks To Buyout Corey Brewer?

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Sources out of New York have the Knicks close to a deal to buy out forward Corey Brewer making him a free agent. The move comes as a surprise to most. Brewer should draw plenty of interest considering he is an above average defender. Sources say Boston, San Antonio, Oklahoma City and Dallas will all be in the running to sign Brewer. Brewer has been a disappointment since being drafted out of Florida four years ago. Although limited offensively, Brewer would be a solid addition to the bench chipping in on the defensive end. Rumors are circulating that the Knicks [...]

Mike Bibby and the Washington Wizards have come to terms of a buyout making the veteran guard a free agent. Bibby had been vocal about his desire to be bought out after the Atlanta Hawks sent him packing at the NBA trade deadline. The move does come as a surprise considering the amount of money previously owed to Bibby, some thought the money would be enough to keep him a Wizard for at least the remainder of the season. Kendrick Perkins To Miss 2-3 Weeks

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Oklahoma City center Kendrick Perkins (still sounds weird) will miss 2-3 weeks with a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. The injury was originally thought to keep Perkins out 1 week, but this could just be the case of the Thunder playing it safe keeping Kendrick Perkins as fresh as possible for a post season run. Said Thunder head coach: “I believe in our medical team, if they feel it’s two to three weeks then I’m comfortable with that. I just want to know when he comes back he’s ready to play at the level that [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA News | COMMENTS: None Yet

The 2011 NBA trade deadline came in like a lamb and went out like a lion for sure. What was thought to be a slow trade deadline ended with a flurry of deals being made. Now that the trades have been settled, teams will begin their annual process of shedding salary by orchestrating buyouts for their overpaid/under performing stars. Teams have until March 1st to sign a waived player in order to have the player eligible for post season play. Just like the trade deadline, the buyout rumors are in full force. Said Boston Celtics team president Danny Ainge: “Our [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Boston Celtics | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Golden State Warriors acquired forward/center Troy Murphy sending center Dan Gradzuric and forward Brandon Wright, and thier expiring contracts, to the New Jersey Nets in return for Murphy’s expiring contract and a second round draft pick. The expectation was that the Warriors would then buy out Murphy making him a free agent allowing him to sign with any team. Well, according to Marc Sprears of Yahoo, Murphy is still a member of the team and there is a possibility he could remain with the Warriors as they make a run for a playoff spot. We are coming down to [...]
