The Celtics could not figure out the charging Bulls in this Windy City matchup. The Bulls did all they could to frustrate the C’s taking Paul Pierce and Ray Allen out of the game forcing Glen Davis and Rajon Rondo to shoulder the offensive load on their way to a 90-79 victory.
Derrick Rose dominated the Celtics scoring a game high 36 points and making 15 out of 19 free throws, a career high. Carlos Boozer chipped in with 22 and 10 whilst proving that this formidible inside/outside combination was too much for the banged up Celtics to handle.
The Celtics have been flying high of late, but the back end of two games in two nights got the best of them. Said coach Doc Rivers “We just didn’t have it in us, we just had a bad night.” A game like this was bound to happen and the Celtics can show that this was just an average let down with a bounce back performance at home against the Houston Rockets on Monday night.
By the time you finish reading this Derrick Rose has gone to the free throw line another 3 times.
Paul Pierce led the way for the Celtics with 21 points.
Odds are these two teams will meet again in the postseason and hopefully both teams will be at full strength. Should be fun to watch.
