Yesterdays Poll Reults- “It will take a win agaist an elite team to win fans over.” What we became so accustomed to last year was seeing Rondo to KG for the oop. That became an art form, as we saw it typically more than 1 time a game. We have seen it a few times this year, but mostly in the preseason and very early in the regular season. Since then, this play has gone into hiding. It may not be a bad thing, because 2 points is 2 points whether KG slams it in, or lays it in. One [...]
Celtics Beat 76ers Making it 3 Straight
CELTICS 96 76ERS 86 In classic Celtics fashion, the C’s got it done on the defensive end of the court tonight. The 76ers have played us well this year, and have even taken a game from us at the Garden. Many people like to say the Celtics cant play well against the athletic teams. They took one step in dispelling that myth tonight. In probably the quietest, most boring game I have seen in quite a while, Boston had to find a way to manage some kind of desire to play. What bothered me was how it didn’t even feel like [...]
Kevin Garnett Is Winding Up The Cuss Meter
Its that time of the year again. It’s the part of the NBA season that seperates the men from the boys. In a month and 10 days, we will no longer be talking about the regular season. If you think about it in that respect, this season has gone by awfully fast. With it being that close, slowly you can feel the newfound energy surrounding the Celtics. What comes with that? A few more swear words out of the mouth of KG as he leaves his reserved role and takes on his, “I don’t give a mo… ……. I’m gonna [...]
Michael Finley Is Headed To The Celtics
Earlier this week the San Antonio Spurs released veteran swingman Michael Finley. It is now three days later and he is now about to join the team that many compare with the Spurs, the Boston Celtics. Yesterday on WEEI Celtics GM Danny Ainge mentioned that he was interested in pursuing Finley. Today he pursued him and now, according to multiple sources, Finley is headed to Boston. Via Chris Forsberg (ESPN Boston): The Celtics agreed to a deal Thursday with free agent swingman Michael Finley, bringing the 15-year veteran to Boston in a move aimed at bolstering the team’s roster for [...]
Yesterday’s Results: “Celtics fans believe it’s time to start blaming coach Doc Rivers for some of the teams recent struggles.” As most Celtics fans realize by now, the Boston Celtics have not lived up to expectations so far this season. They started out hot, cooled off, got hot again, and haven’t put together a solid winning streak in months. Last night the Celtics gave us their best performance in a long time, defeating the Bobcats by twenty-four. For the first time since early January Celtics fans finally saw a glimpse of Gino on the jumbotron. With that being said, many [...]
Vintage Paul Pierce Is Delightful To The Eyes
If you have watched Paul Pierce throughout his tenure in Boston then you know by now that this guy is one hell of a scorer. Yes he does have his bad games, and his bad stretches for that matter, but when he is on there are very few guys in the league I would rather have with the ball in their hands. No he isn’t Kobe, no he isn’t Lebron, but he has proved on multiple occasions that he can go head to head with these upper echelon players. This season has not exactly been what you would call a career [...]
Kobe’s Lakers Stay At The Top Of NBA Power Rankings
It is that time of the week. Time for us to release our weekly NBA Power Rankings. A lot went on this past week including matchups between many top tier teams in the league. For the first time in a few weeks we had quite a few changes in the rankings. The top three teams remained the same but after those spots the teams were scrambled every where in comparison to last week’s rankings. We will give you the basic info about the power rankings here but make sure to check out our Weekly Power Rankings page to see the [...]
Is It Time To Blame Doc Rivers? – Daily Poll
Yesterday’s Results: “Yes, Shelden Williams should be receiving some of Rasheed Wallace’s minutes. At this point it couldn’t hurt.” Earlier today I did a post here at Hardwood Houdini questioning when, and if, Celtics fans will ever start to put some of the blame for the Celtics struggles on the shoulders of Doc Rivers. From his piss poor rotations to his management of his players on and off the court, he has not done what a great coach should be doing. Now with this poll question I am not asking you if I think we should can Doc tomorrow if [...]
Take Nate Robinson’s Leash Off And Watch Him Go
The guys a stud. He can flat out play basketball. For the whole season he has been held back both in New York, and now in his sort time in Boston, Doc has been holding him. He can shoot, he can score, he can dunk, heck he goes in and scraps for the offensive boards. Everytime he takes to the floor it is like he has the goal in his mind to prove everyone wrong. Why? He has to. At 5 feet 9 inches tall, he has to score, and he has to prove his worth. While in New York, [...]
Celtics Slip By Pistons With 105-100 Victory
CELTICS 105 PISTONS 100 It surely wasn’t the most exciting game to watch, but in the end the C’s came out on top. The crowd at the Palace was very quiet, the game was very slow paced, players on opposing teams weren’t getting into it- there really wasn’t much to get up for. I guess another reason for the boring nature of the game was the amount of free throws taken. By games end, 61 free throws had been taken combined. That is like numbers we saw in the preseason when the D-league refs were in there calling but a [...]
