Celtics Pull The Switcheroo On The Nuggets
CELTICS 105 NUGGETS 114 So what usually happens to the Celtics is they get out to a big lead and blow it. This game was the complete opposite where the Celtics allowed for the Nuggets to get the big lead, and then let the Nuggets blow it. At the end of the first quarter the score was 37-19 in favor of Denver, and it felt like it was so much more. The Celtics were playing poor defense, but the Nuggets shooting wasn’t helping anything. Carmelo did what he does when he gets on a roll, and JR Smith hit a [...]
Celtics Fans, Which Team Scares You Most? – Daily Poll
Yesterdays Poll Results: “Playing through countless injuries is the reason why Paul Pierce has struggled as of late.” Today I stumbled across an article written by one of our good friends Julian Benbow of the Boston Globe. Julian caught a quote coming from the mouth of Pau Gasol about all the teams the Celtics would have to go through to win the NBA championship. He mentioned the Lakers (of course), the Cavs, Magic, and Hawks. When I read this I looked at the list of teams and tried to decide which team scares me the most. In other words, as [...]
Eddie House Shines In MSG Debut
When Eddie House left Boston to head to the “Big Apple” we all wished him the best. It was sad to see him go because he was a fan favorite, but most fans realize that the NBA is a business and the Celtics had to do what’s best for the team’s success. That question that remains up in the air is, was this move what is best for the team? By most people’s observations the guy the Celtics are bringing in, Nate Robinson, is a much more well-rounded basketball player. But do we need a better or player, or do [...]
Paul Pierce’s Part on The Celtics – Daily Poll
Yesterdays Poll Results: “Ray Allen is turning the corner. He is beginning to look like the Ray Allen of old.” Paul Pierce has noticeably not been scoring as much as we have been used to. He began the season on an explosive pace, shooting lights out from 3 point range, and consistently putting up points into the mid and upper 20′s. Lately, however, we have not noticed him taking as many shots, and struggling somewhat with his driving ability to the basket. Pierce has not put in 20 or more points since his 35 point effort at Atlanta on January [...]
Celtics Led by Ray Allen Demolish the Blazers
CELTICS 96 BLAZERS 76 These west coast games are killing me. The games aren’t getting over until 1 AM at the earliest, after which I quickly jump on the computer to type up the recap. (Give me a little sympathy here..) Anyways, the Celtics got the job done tonight on the 2nd game of a back to back. If you looked at this part of the schedule, you would likely say, “It would be good to grab one of those games, either against LA or Portland.” Well, the C’s got greedy and decided to take both. Boston jumped out early [...]
What Is Wrong With Rasheed Wallace?
Remember that time in early July when Celtics fans everywhere were ecstatic about Rasheed Wallace joining the team? If you don’t, I sure do. Rasheed was expected to be that guy that would make the Celtics favorites to win the championship and raise banner eighteen. He was suppose to provide a spark off the bench and fill in if anything was to happen to the fragile Kevin Garnett. Now I’m not going to say he hasn’t done either of these things, but I will say that he has not lived up to his expectations one bit. There has been moments [...]
Celtics Showed The Defense Last Night Of 07-08
We talk about it constantly, and are always peering at the points per game allowed total to see where the Celtics stand. If they are playing great defense, more than likely they are winning games. Although they have played decent defense all year (good enough to be in and around the top spot in points per game allowed for the whole year) their offense, and defense has slacked at times. In the past, the team would use the defense to pick up the slack for the lack of offense. Therefore, if the Celtics weren’t scoring, the game change in score [...]
In quite some time Perkins has not been extremely impressive. He shows up every game and puts in the numbers he did a couple years ago, while playing about the same defense as every other center in the league. That is not who he is, though. When he wants to be, he is a dominant force inside, that grabs offensive boards, and plays rough defense that throws off his opposing centers. In last nights game against the Lakers he did just that. Sure if you look at the Box Score, names like Ray Allen with his 24 points, and Rajon [...]
Celtics Return The Favor With 87-86 Victory Over Lakers
Let me start of by being blunt. Lakers fan, don’t fool yourself into believing this game meant nothing. I know you went to sleep last night saying, “yah but we didn’t have Kobe.” But, that just wasn’t enough for you. This loss still bothered you. You deep down want to think that for the rest of the season you can hang your hat on that you didn’t have Kobe in this game. In reality, you are scared of what went on last night. In last nights game, the Celtics pushed and shoved around the soft Lakers, and LA didn’t like it. Lakers fan, what you [...]
Is Ray Allen Turning The Corner? – Daily Poll
Yesterdays Poll Results:“Celtics fans and NBA fans in general approve of the trade that the Celtics made to acquire Knicks guard Nate Robinson.” Before today’s NBA trade deadline there were talks all around the league about the Celtics possibly shipping Ray Allen for younger talent. Sources had him going to Chicago, Sacramento, and Washington, just to name a few. Well today the trade deadline passed and at 3pm EST Ray Allen must have breathed a sigh of relief. During tonight’s Celtics-Lakers game Ray Allen came to play and showed everyone that he still is that great player that we like [...]
