CELTICS 105   NUGGETS 114 So what usually happens to the Celtics is they get out to a big lead and blow it. This game was the complete opposite where the Celtics allowed for the Nuggets to get the big lead, and then let the Nuggets blow it. Yesterdays Poll Results: “Ray Allen is turning the corner. He is beginning to look like the Ray Allen of old.” Paul Pierce has noticeably not been scoring as much as we have been used to. Remember that time in early July when Celtics fans everywhere were ecstatic about Rasheed Wallace joining the team? If you don’t, I sure do. Rasheed was expected to be that guy that would make the Celtics favorites to win the championship and raise banner eighteen. We talk about it constantly, and are always peering at the points per game allowed total to see where the Celtics stand. If they are playing great defense, more than likely they are winning games. Although they have played decent defense all year (good enough to be in and around the top spot in points per game allowed for the whole year) their offense, and defense has slacked at times. In quite some time Perkins has not been extremely impressive. He shows up every game and puts in the numbers he did a couple years ago, while playing about the same defense as every other center in the league. That is not who he is, though. When he wants to be, he is a dominant force inside, that grabs offensive boards, and plays rough defense that throws off his opposing centers. In last nights game against the Lakers he did just that. Let me start of by being  blunt. Lakers fan, don’t fool yourself into believing this game meant nothing. I know you went to sleep last night saying, “yah but we didn’t have Kobe.” But, that just wasn’t enough for you. This loss still bothered you.
