Former Celtics Player Al Jefferson Arrested For DUI

AUTHOR: bpaul | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well if there’s one thing that you can appreciate about the Boston Celtics so far this season it is their pleasant off court behavior. No DUI’s, no bar fights, or other off court incidents aside from the small altercation between Glen Davis and a friend in the preseason. Unfortunately former Celtics center Al Jefferson can not say the same. According to multiple sources Jefferson was picked up for driving under the influence of alcohol at around 2am this morning.
Via NBC Sports:
The only sources available are Darren Wolfson’s Twitter page and the web booking log from Hennepin County, MN, and while it’s [...]

Home Isn’t Sweet Home For Celtics

AUTHOR: bpaul | IN: Boston Celtics, Celtics | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

I assume all of you have heard or said the pharse “home sweet home” at one point during your lives, and usually when you return home it is something to look forward to, correct? Well maybe for some, but not so much for others. So far this year home is the worst place the Boston Celtics could be. The guys that call the TD Garden home currenty hold a 16-11 record in their battles on the parquet floor.
This year the Garden has tranformed from a place opponents dreaded to play in, to a place where every single opposing team is coming [...]

Celtics Hit Low Point Of The Season With Loss To Nets

New Jersey Nets 104 Boston Celtics 96
TD Garden – Boston, MA
January 27, 2010
Box Score
Boos were raining down onto the parquet floor at the TD Garden today, and for good reason. The Boston Celtics took the floor today against the five-win New Jersey Nets and were expected to grab the easy win in front of the home crowd. Going into the game the spread for the game was -10.5 for the Celtics and even I thought that would be an easy cover. It turns out that I was completely wrong and the Boston Celtics dropped an embarrassing one to the Nets [...]

Celtics Past 3 Games Are Missing Something

AUTHOR: greenbanner18 | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

DEFENSE
The C’s still hold the leagues best defense as far as points allowed per game. For the 6 games before the last three, the Celtics had not given up 100 points in a game. The defense started to look like that lock down D we had seen in the 07-08 season. They were swarming and giving up very few open looks. Most of all, they did not take quarters off.
In the last three games, they have given up 100+ points. Now, okay, 2 of the teams played were high scoring clubs. The Nuggets are in the west, so obviously they [...]

Celtics Use of Energizer Bunny Nate Robinson – Daily Poll

AUTHOR: greenbanner18 | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Yesterdays Poll Results: “Rajon Rondo will have more assists than Lebron James.” He did, but in my book he didn’t have enough assists late to lead the Celtics.
Now I know it is early on, and he only has 2 games under his belt in a green uniform, but I already don’t like what I am seeing. I am getting the feeling Doc is afraid to insert Nate into the lineup at points in the game when the Celtics are slacking. If you ask me, when the team isn’t playing well they need a change on the floor. You would think [...]

Deja Vu Leads Cavs Rout of Celtics

AUTHOR: greenbanner18 | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

CAVS 108   CELTICS 88
Somewhere I have heard this story before. It makes me question why I even have to write this post. The Celtics played a game, and you know what happened. You did not even have to watch. The C’s got out to a good lead, they looked confident and sharp, then halftime came, and their game was over. They had already “proved” everything they needed to prove. They had shown the Cavs that they could play with them, created a lead of up to 13 points, and went into the half up 8. After that, they left their [...]

Shelden Williams’ Time As A Boston Celtic

AUTHOR: bpaul | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

When the Celtics acquired Shelden Williams this past offseason most people thought he was acquired just to fill a roster spot. Not many people, myself included, believed he had any type of role on this team. We expected him to come in and be “one of those guys” who goes to practice, works hard, then warms the bench come game time.
Celtics fans quickly became acquainted with Shelden through his Twitter account and gave him a warm welcome to Boston. In one of his first replies to me he said, “Boston is like no other when it comes to sports”. After [...]

Rajon Rondo and Lebron James Assisting You – Daily Poll

AUTHOR: greenbanner18 | IN: Daily Poll | COMMENTS: None Yet

Yesterdays Poll Results: “Rasheed Wallace has learned his role and now knows to stop shooting so many threes.”
Lebron James has become the facilitator of the Cleveland Cavaliers. It is not by design, but instead from the fact that he always has to have his hands on the ball. Mo Williams has reinserted himself into the lineup as the starting point guard, but James has still kept his assists up in the Point Guard range. In the past 6 games, James has had assist totals of double digts 4 times, and the same goes for Rondo. Of those games, Rajon has [...]

Perkins Job on Shaq Tonight – As Told By Kevin Garnett

AUTHOR: greenbanner18 | IN: Celtics Analysis | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Perk has a tough job tonight in holding off Shaq. He gives up some height, and clearly quite a bit of weight. As we know, this offseason Perk worked his tail off to lose weight, which helps him in certain matchups, but maybe not this one. In the past Perkins has had some issues trying to hold off O’Neal. Certainly his best defensive efforts have come against guys like Howard, Yao, and Bynum. None of these guys can really back him down, and can be easily thrown off their game with a little contact. Well Shaq doesn’t mind contact. Therefore, [...]
