Glen Davis Will Always Be A Big Baby
Last night the Boston Celtics suffered another embarrassing defeat in Detroit against the Pistons. If the loss in itself wasn’t enough to make Celtics fans shake their head, Glen Davis took it upon himself to make sure Celtics fans everywhere would be shaking their heads in disappointment today. During the first half of last night’s game the guy we continue to call Big Baby did something that directly attributes to why he continues to have the word “baby” in his nickname. According to reports, a Pistons fan behind the Celtics bench heckled Glen for most of the first half by calling [...]
Pistons Help Celtics Make it 4 Out of 5
CELTICS 86 PISTONS 92 Ho hum… Whats new? Another loss to a team far inferior to the Celtics club. After jumping on the Pistons early, like they did against Atlanta, and Dallas, and the Clippers, and the Warriors, and….. Who cares? The Celtics are playing like junk right now. Even when they looked like they had it all going up 11, they didnt have anything going. They were being helped by the fact that the Pistons were THAT BAD. Detroit turned the ball over what seemed like everytime down the court. Yet when all was said and done, the Celtics [...]
While being involved in the most controversial play of the week, Glen Davis got himself back on track and earned himself the Hardwood Houdini Player of The Week. After looking pretty shaky in his game time the week before, Davis made his presence felt this past week. Big Baby has shown that he is getting his timing and feel for the game back. Although he has come out with a new style of play, I would expect him to return to his jumpers once his thumb is better, in return making his offensive game much more versatile. Lets hope this [...]
Boston Celtics @ Detroit Pistons Preview
Wednesday, January 2oth, 2010 Palace of Auburn Hills – Auburn Hills, MI 7:30 PM ET Tip The Pistons have been playing much better basketball as of late. Since coming off their stretch where they didn’t win a game in a month, they have won 3 of their last 4. The Celtics are on the other side of the coin and have lost 3 of their last 4. The Celtics go into Detroit with a record of 27-12 which is good for 2nd in the east, while the Pistons are 14-26 and holding down the 11th spot in the east. The [...]
Daily Poll – Rasheed Wallace Returning to The Palace
In an attempt to add new features to make Hardwood Houdini a more intriguing site to visit, we have tested out new ideas such as Player of the Week and Power Rankings, both of which have been accepted by the readers with great regards. Now we are going to do a test run on a daily poll that will be up every morning and throughout the day on the site for you to come in and respond with your opinion on the subject matter. The results from these polls will be kept and brought up further down the line when they apply [...]
Rajon Rondo Dribbling The Air Out of the Ball
Does Kevin Garnett really have this much effect on the Celtics? If so, it is quite amazing. I understand the whole “Stats don’t lie” and everything, which in some instances is true, but I don’t think it is so true in this circumstance. Ball movement on the offensive end starts at Rondo. As of late there has been times where there is none of it. What I personally, and maybe you as well, have seen a lot of is Rondo getting the ball back with anywhere from 6-8 seconds on the shot clock, and right then you know what is happening [...]
Before I get into a few things that went down in Celtics nation today I want to apologize for the site being down for the majority of the day. Unfortunately for us it was out of our control so we had to patiently wait to get the word that the server was back up. Again we apologize for this inconvenience and hope it doesn’t happen again in the near future. Kevin Garnett Is Back Now on to something that really matters, the Boston Celtics. After suffering a very disappointing 99-90 loss against the Mavericks last night the Celtics were back on [...]
Dallas Mavericks 99 Boston Celtics 90 TD Garden – Boston, MA Box Score Tonight the Boston Celtics welcomed Dirk Nowitzki and the visiting Dallas Mavericks to the TD Garden for a nationally televised matchup. Coming into the game we expected this to be a good one and for the most part it lived up to the expectations. The game saw the Celtics grab a double digit lead in the first half before the Mavs used a huge run to take a double digit lead of their own. The Celtics did try to make a run for it but ultimately dropped [...]
NBA Power Rankings: Kobe and Lakers Take Over Top Spot
It wasn’t a long absence from the top spot for Kobe Bryant and his Lakers. After spending last week in the second spot we decided this week to put them back into the top spot, leapfrogging Lebron James and the Cavaliers. There was not much debate this week and we both agreed to rankings that were somewhat similar to last weeks. Check them out here to see where your favorite team stands. For now here’s a few bullet points of what to expect: We took our green goggles off and put the Atlanta Hawks at number three in front of [...]
