How Do The Celtics Make Up For The Loss Of Pierce?
If you haven’t heard by now, earlier today we learned that Boston Celtics captain Paul Pierce is expected to miss at least two weeks. This news is heart breaking considering that we are headed into the biggest game of the season so far on Friday against Orlando. Instead of sitting here and depressing myself thinking about life without Pierce, I instead am trying to look at what options we have now that Pierce is not available. There are multiple scenarios that we could see in the coming weeks, Doc Rivers will really have to earn his paycheck trying to figure [...]

Paul Pierce Out Atleast 2 Weeks
According to CSNNE Paul Pierce will be out for the next 2 weeks after undergoing anthroscopic irrigation to clean out an infected knee. Via CSNNE.com: CSNNE.com has learned that Pierce has a knee infection that required a medical procedure, which is expected to sideline him for a couple weeks. “Obviously, Paul has been such an important part of our success,” Ainge said. “But I look at this as an opportunity for others to step up.” Team owner Wyc Grousbeck told CSNNE.com that Pierce began feeling discomfort in the knee after Tuesday’s win over Indiana. Grousbeck described the problem as an [...]
Bill Walker Recalled From Maine Red Claws
Ughhhh… Here we go again folks. The Boston Celtics have decided to take full advantage of the 15-man roster that they are allowed to have. Today they called up Bill Walker from their D-League affiliate the Maine Red Claws. Walker was averaging 17.4 ppg and 7.4 rpg during his stay in Portland. This was all while starting in nine games, and averaging a team high 30.4 minutes per game. From the official Boston Celtics Twitter page: Bill Walker has been recalled from the Maine Red Claws. Averaged 17.4 ppg and 6.4 rpg over nine games in the D-League. Now I [...]
Wow. For those of you who turned your television off at the half out of frustration, the Celtics came back and won by 9 after being down by 15 at the half. If the Celtics were playing any team other than the 9-17 Pacers, such as the Magic, they could have been down by about 30 at the end of 2. It was that bad. Perkins couldn’t hold on to the ball, the team was making passes that just weren’t there, Pierce couldnt hit a shot if the gym were empty, and the defense as a unit just looked terrible. [...]
Kevin Garnett: The Missing Ticket
If you have not yet heard, Kevin Garnett missed tonight’s game against Indiana with a bruised right thigh. The team stresses that this is not a serious injury and that he was sidelined so he could get extra rest. Is this something to be overly concerned about? It’s really hard not to be with all the stuff that went down last year with this guy. The team did say however that Garnett participated in the morning walk through and a shoot around earlier in the day. According to ESPN’s Chris Forsberg, Doc Rivers made the final decision before tip-off after [...]
INDIANA PACERS @ BOSTON CELTICS Preview
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009 TD Garden- Boston, MA 7:30 PM ET Tip The Indiana Pacers come in to tonights game having lost 3 in a row, and 4 of their last 5. It seems as if that is becoming a recurring theme as of late. They hold a 9-17 record, and their only statement victory on the year was in November in the game against the Boston Celtics. The Celtics on the other side of the coin have won 12 of their last 13, stand at 21-5, and are looking to plug it through this game so they can begin [...]
NBA All Star Game Attendance Likely to Be….
Somewhere in the 80-90 thousand range. Jerry Jones is aiming even higher and looking to round this game off at: “One-double-oh,” Jones said in his deliberate way of expressing 100,000. “If you can say one-zero-zero,” he methodically continued as his unblinking blue eyes virtually popped out of the sockets, “it slides out better than nine-zero.” As quoted from Jeff Caplan’s: Jones pursues ‘the magical number’ Ski Austin, who is the Executive VP of NBA events, said every one of the 60-70 thousand tickets that have been released have been sold. Certain restrictions like fire hazards prevent some tickets from [...]
Tony Allen – Hardwood Houdini Player of The Week
This past week Tony Allen really brought the game we have been waiting for him to provide for the Celtics. Now you may think the only reason we made the call for him to get the award is because of his “Play of the Year” dunk on a pass from Eddie House. That was not the reason, but instead it was because of plays LIKE that, that grabbed him the honors. For the first time in a very, very long time Tony Allen deserves some credit, and we hope he will continue to earn it. For the writeup of what Tony Allen [...]
Rasheed Wallace: “And One” Less Technical Foul
Rasheed Wallace’s recent ejection from the game against Philadelphia has created a lot of talk about Sheed’s early technical foul troubles. After the ejection on Friday night Rasheed was at number ten, only six away from the magical number of sixteen, which results in a one game suspension for each technical after the magical number. We all know it is not a great situation to be in, but some good news came from the NBA league office today. According to CSNNE the league office has rescinded one of Rasheed’s technical fouls. After the NBA decided to impose no additional fines [...]
