Friday of Horrors

AUTHOR: | IN: Boston Celtics | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Since the beginning of the 07-08 season, the Boston Celtics have been all but unstoppable on Friday night games at the Garden. Up until the home game against the Suns this year, they were 27-2 in these games. Believe me when I say that the majority of those 29 games in the past two years were against good competition. Every Friday night a team would step foot into the TD Garden, and 93% of the time the Celtics walked away with the W. The same can not be said for the C’s previous two Friday night matchups. Two weeks ago, the Celtics put [...]

Kendrick Perkins “The Beast” Battles Superman Tomorrow Night

AUTHOR: | IN: Kendrick Perkins | COMMENTS: None Yet

Tomorrow night the Boston Celtics will match up against the Orlando Magic in one of the biggest games of this young season. The Magic are one of the serious threats in the Eastern Conference and are the reigning conference champions. The Celtics are hoping to defeat the Magic and put themselves as the favorite in the Eastern Conference. The X-Factor tomorrow night is going to be the Celtics big man, Kendrick Perkins. He will be matched up with arguably the best center in the league, and last years NBA defensive player of the year, Dwight “Superman” Howard. In previous matchups [...]

Ray Allen is a New Man

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen | COMMENTS: None Yet

Noticeably, Ray Allen has been getting to the rim a lot more this year than in years past. He has been posting up a lot more in switches, and is working his magic down low. I can’t say it has hurt the team as he is shooting around 49% FG on the year. The only problem is: Where has all his three pointers gone??? On the season he is shooting  31.3% from three, much below his career average of 39.7%. Again, it is very early in the year to make any judgements. One way or another, Ray Allen is a guy who [...]

Celtics Work SOME Kinks Out- Still Have Work

AUTHOR: | IN: Boston Celtics, Rajon Rondo | COMMENTS: None Yet

CELTICS 109 – WARRIORS 95 On a night, during a game, where there wasn’t much meaning, the Celtics pulled away in the 3rd quarter from their lesser counter parts. The C’s don’t really have any reason to bring any extra drive, or extra reason to go out and dominate when playing Golden State. They are simply a subpar team from the Western Conference, who we have 2 games a year against. That was the vibe behind this entire game. I personally expected us to come out and blow them away. I thought the disappointing 2 losses in a row, followed by [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

VS.             (3-7)                                                       (8-3) Wednesday, November 18th, 2009  TD Garden 7:30 PM ET Tip The Golden State Warriors will be coming in to tonights game bruised and beaten. They are coming into the 2nd game of a back to back after losing a close one to the Cleveland Cavaliers last night. In last nights affair, the Warriors only had 7 players suited up. Big names like Raja Bell and Andres Biedrins will be no shows in tonights matchup. The Celtics on the other hand have all systems go, and are ready to put their hard work back together and get [...]

Perkins Talking Bout Practice, Practice!

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

After two straight loses the Boston Celtics have their fans biting on their fingernails. Sloppy play, lack of energy, lack of execution, and may I say lack of motivation have been factors responsible for the unwanted results. This is not the same team that we saw the first three games of the season when we had thoughts of a 72+ win season. It just has not been there, on the defensive end they have been a step slow, and on the offensive end they have went away from passing the ball and moving around. Following yesterday’s practice in Waltham, one of [...]

Once Again Pierce Is Proving Why He’s A Leader

AUTHOR: | IN: Paul Pierce | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Over the past few days there has been a lot of talk around Celtics nation about the possibility of acquiring guys such as Andres Nocioni and Allen Iverson. Although it is good to throw ideas out there, one thing I think that has been ignored through all these talks is the leadership Paul Pierce has displayed. Over the past few days Pierce has said, and done, things that show the true characteristics of a leader. It all started out following a loss to the Atlanta Hawks last Friday night when Pierce went down with a strained left knee. It was questionable [...]

Hardwood Houdini Is Back and Better Than Ever

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

If you thought Hardwood Houdini wouldn’t be back, guess again folks. After a period of negotiations us guys at Gino’s Jungle have decided to take over Hardwood Houdini. We will start off by saying a little bit about ourselves. About two months ago, two die-hard Celtics fans, Bpaul and GreenBanner18, had the bright idea to start a Celtics blog. We are very opinionated Celtics fans and thought that this would be a great opportunity to interact with the rest of Celtics Nation. In our first two months the responses have been nothing but great. We have formed many alliances in [...]
